Core Values (Continued)

The North Coast Ecology center’s priority is to ensure, wherever possible, community engagement and recruitment to enhance local economic development, local knowledge growth and integration.

The wilderness around us is often difficult to access. We know from countless studies around the world, that in order for stewardship of a region to happen, local education, relevant hands-on-activity and experiences need to occur. This active space will allow a diverse audience to benefit from nature education and participate in stewardship activities.

The centre could provide the platform for understanding how to care for our many wonderful species and to ensure that we will have access to the ocean’s bounties for many more centuries.

The North Coast Ecology Centre Society aims to create a permanent education centre in Prince Rupert that highlights the region’s ecological richness.
